Scottrade Bank Equipment Finance, a division of Scottrade Bank recently hired industry veteran John DeWind as a senior business development officer. Based in Colorado, DeWind will be responsible for originating construction and transportation equipment transactions.
“John has built a successful career in construction equipment financing, and the relationships he has with equipment dealers and manufacturers will be invaluable in helping his clients grow their businesses,” said Fred Van Etten, President of Scottrade Bank Equipment Finance and senior vice president of Scottrade Bank.
DeWind previously served as regional sales manager at Bank of the West, and held sales manager roles at Key Bank and Case Power and Equipment – Falcon Power and Southeastern Machinery.
Scottrade Bank also recently hired Laura Owens as its chief risk officer and Imran Riaz as its chief credit officer.
“Laura and Imran’s wealth of experience will help Scottrade Bank further each client’s financial opportunities,” said Chris McComish, president of Scottrade Bank. “Their expertise will be instrumental in helping us grow Scottrade Bank.”
Owens is responsible for leading the Bank in the continual analysis and review of risk and internal controls, and providing appropriate direction to the business functions regarding risk, risk management, and operational and governance controls. She is also accountable for developing policies and procedures to help define the Bank’s risk appetite and the identification of key risks, key risk indicators, controls and mediation efforts. She has more than 25 years of experience in enterprise risk management, audit, accounting, information technology and operations in the financial services industry, previously serving in senior management roles at First Bank and as a CPA at BKD CPAs & Advisors, LLP.
Riaz oversees all credit-related activities and credit-related operations, setting the guidelines, developing policies and creating procedures for extending credit to the retail and commercial clients of Scottrade Bank. He has more than 25 years of banking experience in credit risk management and business process automation, most recently serving as credit officer at Sun National Bank. He also held senior roles at TD Bank, N.A., Banknorth, and SIS Bank.
Scottrade Bank began operations in July 2008, and in 2011, began offering retail banking products and services to Scottrade® brokerage clients. In 2013, Scottrade Bank Equipment Finance was launched to originate and syndicate commercial equipment leases for U.S. companies. Today, Scottrade Bank is focused on offering retail banking services to Scottrade’s brokerage clients, equipment finance lending and commercial lending.
