March 20, 2025, 06:45 AM

Amid continued growth in membership and its footprint, STCU has expanded its senior leadership team, promoting three proven employees and adding a new team member with years of experience in financial institutions.

New to STCU is:

Steve Hauschild, SVP – Commercial Banking. Since 2016 Hauschild has worked at BECU as Market Leader for Eastern and Central Washington, North Idaho and Oregon. Hauschild recently served on boards of the Spokane Colleges Foundation, Greater Spokane Inc., and MultiCare INW Foundation among other community activities. He studied business and accounting at Gonzaga University and holds an MBA from Washington State University.

In keeping with STCU’s strong tradition of preparing employees for career growth and recognizing their leadership potential, STCU has promoted these individuals:

  • Tracy Ballard, SVP - Human Resources and Organizational Development. Ballard joined STCU’s team in 2012. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Eastern Washington University. Ballard serves on the boards for Spokane Workforce Council and Spokane Angels, a non-profit supporting children and families in the foster care community.
  • Amy Friemel, SVP – Loan Operations. Friemel joined STCU as Continuous Improvement Manager in 2018 and was promoted to VP-Director of Continuous Improvement. She previously was a vice president at Umpqua Bank after positions at Boeing and Triumph Composite Systems. Friemel has a degree in business administration from EWU and is a board member for Northeast Youth Center.
  • Amy Warker, SVP – Brand Marketing. Warker joined STCU in 2018 as Director of Brand Marketing. She attended Boise State University and holds a bachelor’s degree from Lewis Clark State College. Warker serves on the boards for the Coeur d’Alene Downtown Association and the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber of Commerce.

With these additions, the STCU senior leadership team is 15-strong, with a C-Suite comprised of President/CEO Ezra Eckhart; Executive Vice President/CFO Lindsey Myhre; Chief Development Officer Patricia Baughman; Chief Growth Officer Brian Read; Chief Risk Officer Brian Scott; and Marty Dickinson, Chief Community Officer, a recent title change to better reflect the breadth of her areas of focus.

Chief Impact and Advocacy Officer named

Community advocate Traci McGlathery is now STCU’s Chief Impact and Advocacy Officer, continuing her advocacy work at the local, state and federal level on behalf of credit unions and the community. McGlathery joined STCU in 2011 as community relations manager. Her community work has included Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Inland Northwest, Northeast Washington Education Council, SNAP, Women Helping Women, and more. She was recognized by Greater Spokane Incorporation as a 2024 Childcare Champion.
