AACFB Announces 2025 Scholarship Winners

February 21, 2025, 06:45 AM

The American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB) announced the first-place recipient of the 2025 Rosanne Wilson Memorial Scholarship, Tayte Lecy.

Since its inception in October 2020, the AACFB scholarship program has aimed to support high school seniors and students pursuing education in various avenues, including trade or technical schools, as well as traditional two or four-year institutions. To date, eight exceptional students have been awarded scholarships.

This year's first-place winner will receive a $3,500 award. Lecy, a sophomore at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, is majoring in Mathematical Finance with a minor in Accounting. As a defensive lineman for the Concordia College Football Team, he balances a rigorous academic schedule with year-round training while maintaining an impressive GPA. In addition to his athletic and academic commitments, Lecy serves as a team ambassador, engaging with potential recruits and their families throughout the school year. Last summer, he gained hands-on experience through an internship in the equipment finance industry. He looks forward to applying his skills in leadership, teamwork, communication, time management, and problem-solving as he works toward his future career goals.

Expressing his gratitude, Tayte stated, "I am very grateful to the AACFB for this scholarship award. It was truly an honor to be chosen, and I will use the funds to help pay for my college expenses. Being a college athlete, I have limited time to work, and these funds will help me be able to maintain my focus on excelling in my academic and athletic goals while giving back to the community through multiple volunteer opportunities."

Alongside Tayte, the Scholarship Task Force recognized Peyton Middleton as the runner-up.

Middleton, a high school senior from Highland, UT, will receive an award of $1,500. As a first-generation college student, she plans to pursue a career as a dental hygienist after graduation.

Upon learning of her scholarship award, Middleton expressed her gratitude, stating, "Winning this scholarship means so much to me. The financial stresses of college are very present in me and many other people’s lives so getting the opportunity to receive this aid in continuing my education is so amazing. I’m so grateful I was chosen as one of the scholarship winners!"
