Summit Expands Capital Markets and Sales Teams, Adds Three Industry Veterans

Summit has hired Bob Johnson as Vice President of Capital Markets. In this role, Johnson will be responsible for developing and expanding Summit’s U.S. investor base, network of funding sources, and will be leading Summit’s Canadian Capital Markets Strategy.

Johnson brings 8 years of experience in the Equipment Finance industry including time with Element Fleet Management, Chain Asset Management (a GE Capital Spinoff), and Grupo Santander. Prior to joining the industry he began his career in a series of progressing Corporate Finance roles with worldwide coverage at IBM in Armonk, NY. Johnson has extensive experience working with a wide variety of investors and funding sources, supporting industries from material handling, construction, technology, marine, renewables and office and imaging.

Tom Austin has joined our team as a Senior Account Manager, Middle Market. In this role, Tom is responsible for developing and expanding business in the Southeastern United States. Austin has extensive experience working with a wide variety of industries, including construction, crane rental, waste and transportation industries.

Austin notably brings over 35 years of experience in the equipment industry, most recently as a Vice President with Flagstar Financial & Leasing, and also at Ameris Bank. Tom also spent extensive time with Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation and with Associates Commercial Corporation.

Taylor Carlson has joined the Summit Funding Group team as a Senior Account Manager, Middle Market. In this role, Carlson is responsible for developing and expanding business across the U.S.

Carlson has over 15 years of experience in the business lending sector and has spent time at VFI Corporate Finance as a Business Development Officer, as well as with Lendio and Direct Business Lending.
