First National Bank of Michigan (FNBM) announced the appointment of Tim Hoekstra as Vice President, Commercial Banking. In this role, Hoekstra will focus on building banking relationships in the greater Kalamazoo and Portage areas.

“We are happy to welcome Tim back to the team,” said Chris Mars, Kalamazoo Commercial Banking Group Manager at FNBM. “His strong background in commercial lending and commitment to relationship banking and the local area are precisely what we value.”

Hoekstra comes to FNBM with over 22 years of experience in commercial banking. As the former owner and Chief Operating Officer of a family-owned company for 23 years, his experience in business management provides him with a unique ability to understand the needs of customers. A native of Kalamazoo, Hoekstra earned a master’s degree in finance and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Western Michigan University.
