DLL received the 2022 “Vendor Finance Provider” and “Best ESG/Sustainability Initiative of the Year” Awards from Leasing Life, one of the top leasing industry journals in Europe, during the Leasing LifeConference & Awards event in Paris, France.
The Vendor Finance Provider Award recognizes an asset finance lessor that has worked in conjunction with manufacturers to provide tailored asset finance at the point of sale. The essence of success is building strong and successful partnerships that add clear value to both sides: this is not just about the provision of funding, but also about creating a strong service and partnership business culture that withstands the ebbs and flows of the external environment. It is the fourth time in five years that DLL has won this award.
The awards jury cited “We gave weight to the partner testimonials reported by the applicants: a particular focus on asset management, supporting circular innovations with tailored financing proposals, including a full service offering for new machines but also for totally rebuilt machines, and stock financing. Vendor financing is either in your organizational DNA or it’s not, and the judges said DLL has demonstrated this DNA to be part of its make up since its creation over 50 years ago.”
Mission of “Partnering for a Better World”
For more than five decades, DLL has built its Vendor Finance business on the core principle of partnership. The company’s vendor finance business model continued its successful journey in Europe, offering upgraded products, services and digital tools across the European Region, and making it easier for vendors and customers to do business with DLL. The endorsements in the Award submission are examples of long-term and mutually beneficial commitments with partners, which make DLL, and most importantly DLL's partners businesses, positioned for sustainable growth and success for many years to come.
Carlo van Kemenade, CEO of DLL, concluded: “At DLL, we believe in genuine partnerships built on personal trust. With a strong focus on customer experience, we look beyond quick fixes to deliver meaningful solutions. We are proud that our vendor partners recognize that and state in their testimonials that DLL is committed to growing long-term relationships and to actively working with them to design, develop and implement creative and healthy solutions that add value throughout the supply chain. This Leasing Life Vendor Finance Provider of the Year Award is a crown on those valuable partnerships and endorses our mission of ‘Partnering for a Better World’.”
Best “ESG/Sustainability” Initiative Award (Environmental Aspects)
This award recognizes an exemplary ESG/Sustainability partnership. The European Commission’s (EC) Action Plan on sustainable finance is a major policy objective by the European Union (EU) to promote sustainable investment. As per the plan, banks are expected to finance sustainable economic activities to transition to a carbon-neutral economy. The plan was introduced in March 2018 in response to the Paris Agreement and to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The plan is also aligned with the goals of the European Green Deal, which aims to see the EU carbon neutral by 2050.
The awards jury cited “DLL has engaged in a large suite of sustainable propositions including partnerships with the EIB, the European Investment Bank, and through other groups such as the Finance Climate Journey Funds to support SMEs in transitioning their assets towards lower emissions and more circular models.”
Urgency to Act
DLL is conscious of its responsibility towards the environmental challenges the world is facing. We view the current developments as a trigger to look at sustainability from a new – and more pressing – perspective. Within the vendor finance market, DLL's ambition is to become the ‘transition partner of choice’. We believe that our unique circular business models and solutions can be a catalyst for transitioning to a greener and more sustainable future. Our aim is to support our partners and help them navigate their critical transition journey with solutions that promote more efficient forms of utilization, extend the life of assets and enhance resource circularity.
Marije Rhebergen, Global Head of Sustainability and CSR at DLL, said “The environmental difficulties the world is facing are undeniably challenging, and DLL is committed to contributing to a more sustainable future by providing financing options that promote circular economy principles with our vendor partners and help our end-customers reduce their carbon footprint. We are very proud to receive the 2022 Leasing Life ‘Best ESG/Sustainability Initiative of the Year’ Award.”
