Wintrust Commercial Banking at Town Bank, N.A., the Wisconsin-based commercial banking unit of Wintrust Bank, has promoted Glenn Margraff to Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking as part of its statewide expansion plan.
The appointment comes on the heels of substantial growth for the bank in the southeastern Wisconsin market and puts Wintrust in an ideal position to expand its commercial services to several key markets across Wisconsin including Green Bay, Oshkosh and Appleton in the Fox Valley as well as Madison, Stevens Point, and Wausau, among others.
Since adding Margraff to the team in 2018, Wintrust has seen its commercial operations in Wisconsin quadruple in size. In addition to growth in the core commercial space, the bank has significantly grown its business portfolio in the Wisconsin market across a variety of sectors, from asset-based lending to government health and not-for-profit to construction, engineering, and architecture, to name a few.
In his current role with Wintrust, Margraff has focused on building long-term relationships with business customers across a range of industries and revenue sizes. In his new role, Margraff will be tasked with expanding the bank’s relationship-centric services to new middle-market businesses across the state and establishing Wintrust as one of Wisconsin's core commercial banking institutions.
“When I joined the Wintrust team, our goal was to build brand equity, expand our market presence, and grow the business,” Margraff said. “In the four years since, we’ve accomplished that and more. I’m incredibly proud of the momentum our team has generated in the marketplace, and I look forward to continuing to expand our offering statewide and provide customers with the thoughtful, informed, and meaningful advice Wintrust’s formidable reputation is built on.”
With three decades of financial services experience across numerous sectors and positions, Margraff is as seasoned and well-rounded as banking professionals come. After getting his start in consumer credit, Margraff kicked off his commercial career with a national distribution finance company followed by a decade spent in various asset-based lending roles. Margraff eventually found his true calling in middle-market business development and portfolio management, a field in which he has spent 15 years and counting.
“Glenn’s wide-ranging expertise in the southeastern Wisconsin market makes him an incredible asset to our team,” said Jay Mack, Town Bank President and CEO. “His knack for digging into the numbers, extracting the right details, and providing tailored solutions to our customers has grown our business substantially, and I’m confident his track record of being on the forefront of emerging trends, coupled with his strong vision for the future, will help build Wintrust into a major player in the Wisconsin market.”
