United Leasing & Finance, a division of United Companies, welcomes Meagan Brien to the company as Vice President and General Counsel. She will be responsible for ensuring risk mitigation in defined areas of corporate insurance and legal matters and will ensure full legal and regulatory compliance for business operations of United Companies and its subsidiaries.
“I am thrilled at the unique opportunity as General Counsel of United Companies to use my diverse background in litigation, secured transactions and corporate matters, and to work for a company that is dedicated to its customers, employees and community,” Brien said.
Before joining United, Brien previously served as a partner at the large, multinational law firm Dentons Bingham Greenebaum LLP, where she focused on corporate litigation, fiduciary litigation and outside business counsel, all for a variety of industries. She is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Illinois and her native Kentucky. During her almost 12 years in private practice, she has practiced before the state and federal courts of these jurisdictions and numerous administrative bodies.
Brien earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky and Juris Doctorate from the McKinney School of Law, Indiana University-Indianapolis.
“Adding someone to the United family with invaluable experience like Meagan’s is exciting,” said Martha Ahlers, President of United Leasing & Finance. “With her extensive background counseling large and small businesses, nonprofits, and financial institutions, Meagan is a perfect fit for this role and will be a great asset for United.”
