JPMorgan Chase announced key organizational changes.
 
Thelma Ferguson, who has served as the Northeast Segment Head for Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries (MMBSI) for the past 12 years, will become Vice Chairman of Commercial Banking (CB). Ferguson has driven MMBSI’s significant expansion in the region, opening offices, growing key client relationships and entering new markets. Under her leadership, extending from Maine down to the Carolinas, Ferguson led the build out of flagship MMBSI regions including New England, Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic. Throughout her 24-year tenure, Ferguson has been a visible culture carrier—outspoken in her support of the firm’s diversity journey, a champion for talent development and an active member of the Black Executive and Black Leadership Forums and the Women on the Move Executive Committee at the company. Ferguson joined the firm in 1998 as an individual contributor within MMBSI and took on increasing leadership responsibilities over the years, starting with serving as President of the Kentucky, Southern Indiana and Tennessee markets.
 
In her new role,  will use her strong connections, extensive knowledge and industry expertise to serve as a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues, focusing on deepening client relationships nationally across CB and continuing to further talent development. She will stay on MMBSI’s Executive Committee continue to report to John Simmons, Head of MMBSI, from her base in New York.
 
After serving for two years as JPMorgan Chase’s Global Head of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI), Brian Lamb is taking on an important new role within Commercial Banking. In line with Ferguson’s transition, Lamb will become the Northeast Segment Head for Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries to lead a key region for a critical part of the business. During his time serving as the firm’s Global Head of DEI, lamb worked tirelessly with leaders across the company to establish a unified and sustainable global strategy across the company, operating DEI as a business. This valuable experience, coupled with his previous leadership roles in Commercial Banking, Retail Banking, Wealth & Asset Management and Investment Advisory at Fifth Third Bank, positions him well for success in his new role. lamb will report to John Simmons and will join MMBSI’s Executive Committee. He will continue to be based in NY.

Miree comes to us with 30 years of industry experience, most recently at Wells Fargo where he was Executive Vice President and Head of Consumer and Small Business Diverse Customer Segments. He has a proven track record of growing and leading multiple business lines, and has been responsible for developing innovative products and solutions that meet the needs of diverse customers and improve their financial wellbeing. This talent and experience will serve David well as he continues to build on the work Miree has led for the past two years. David will report to Daniel Pinto, President and Chief Operating Officer for the firm, with accountability to Robin Leopold, Head of Human Resources. He will join the management teams of the Consumer & Community Bank, Corporate & Investment Bank and HR. He will be based in New York.
