Synovus Bank Names Dierdorff Head of Corporate & Investment Banking

Synovus Bank announced the appointment of Tom Dierdorff as its new Head of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). Dierdorff most recently served as Managing Director and Group Head of Financial Services for Regions Bank and Regions Securities.

Prior to Regions, he worked at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey for seven years where he built a universal banking coverage effort managing investment banking and corporate finance relationships with North America, Europe, and Bermuda-based property-casualty insurers, life insurers, insurance services providers and financial sponsors active in the sector. He also worked in financial institutions corporate & investment banking for nine years at Wachovia Securities and predecessor firms.

Synovus’ CIB line of business will deliver banking and capital markets solutions to larger, more complex, and select public and private equity-backed companies – introducing an opportunity for expansion and growth. The CIB team will be built around specific industry specialties to allow for customized and expert advice related to credit and depository products, syndicated finance, interest rate derivatives, and debt and equity capital markets solutions. Synovus will continue to onboard new talent over the coming months.

Dierdorff earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and German from Washington and Lee University and his Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University.
