GSF Advisors announced its expansion into the renewable and clean energy finance arena, with the addition of three experienced industry executives. Phil Mintun and Francois-Xavier (FiX) Terrasse have joined GSF as Managing Directors and will be responsible for expanding GSF’s capabilities in clean energy finance, offering general advisory services, as well as the placement of tax-equity and debt financings. Zalman Ciment will also join as an Associate.
Previously, Mintun founded and headed the renewable energy tax-equity advisory group at BNP Paribas Capstar Partners, where Terrasse was responsible for principal investments and leading highly structured transactions. At BNP Paribas Capstar Partners, Mintun and Terrasse led a market leading advisory practice, having represented many of the major sponsors and investors in the tax equity market, enabling clients to close tax equity financings for over 25 GW of wind, distributed generation and utility scale solar, biomass, fuel cell and geothermal projects. The team also brings advisory experience in the offshore wind and carbon capture & sequestration markets.
GSF Advisors was established in 2005, with an emphasis on arranging primary and secondary market large ticket equipment finance transactions. Since its inception, GSF has closed over $18 billion of equipment financing transactions in the transportation, real estate, energy, mining and general manufacturing industries. While having completed several transactions in the clean energy industry, the addition of Mintun and Terrasse will greatly enhance GSF’s presence.
“We are extremely pleased to be reuniting with some of our old colleagues from Capstar Partners, particularly individuals with the experience and depth of knowledge that Phil, Fix and Zalman bring to the table”, said Louis DeCarlo and John Hackett, both Managing Directors at GSF. “We worked with Phil for over 15 years at two previous employers and we are looking forward to working together again. Phil and Fix’s relationships and track record of closings in the clean energy industry will enable us to greatly expand our capabilities in an industry which is poised for continued growth.”
Mintun added: “We are excited to lead the clean energy practice at GSF. Our advisory and placement practice has always taken a client-first approach. Joining Lou and John at GSF will allow us to redouble our focus on assisting clients in achieving their objectives.”
