Tamarack Consulting, a provider of independent software solutions in the equipment finance and commercial lending industry, has engaged Sid Overbey as Vice President of Corporate Development. A technology and finance services veteran, Overbey is tasked with expanding Tamarack’s relationships with industry partners, as well as plan and execute a growth strategy for the company.
“As Tamarack expands its role integrating equipment finance tools with the world of digital technology, it was clear that we needed an experienced individual who could navigate and manage a network of relationships across the ecosystem,” said Daniel Nelson, CEO of Tamarack. “Over the last few years, Sid has been a sounding board during the development of Tamarack’s growth strategy and I could think of no one more qualified than him to take on this role.”
Overbey joins Tamarack with more than three decades of experience across technology, finance and their intersection. Most notably, Overbey served as Chief Financial Officer at Accelerated Concepts, Inc. an LTE networking solutions company with major operations in the U.S. and Australia. The company was purchased by Digi International in 2018. Prior to Accelerate, he worked at AT&T where he was the Managed Services and Hosting Development Vice President responsible for the architecture and development of AT&T's managed services offerings.
Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President of Remote Access and Internet Services for IBM Global Services. In this role, he was responsibility for the design, development and worldwide delivery of the IBM Global Network's internet access and content hosting offerings.
“I am very excited to be joining Tamarack at this point in its growth stage,” said Overbey. “The company has already been growing in double digits, but in this changing environment, I believe we have a unique set of skills combining our technology and finance expertise that can create disruption in the market.”
Multiple times throughout his career, he has been an independent consultant specializing in telecommunication services. Overbey will continue to be based in the greater Chicago area.
