HP announced the launch of a virtual tour of its technology renewal center operations, an industry-first offering that provides customers with increased visibility into the IT asset lifecycle management process.
“Rarely do enterprises have the opportunity to see how third parties manage and process their IT infrastructure unless they physically visit the vendor’s renewal or recycling center locations,” said Bob O'Donnell, program vice president, Clients and Displays, IDC. “Providing virtual access to these operations helps deliver the transparency many organizations require.”
Providing instant, anywhere access to the more than 200,000 square feet of facilities located in Andover, Mass., and Erskine, Scotland, the new virtual tour provided by HP Financial Services helps customers see firsthand how their end-of-life assets will be managed, providing total transparency on everything from retiring current IT assets to remarketing and extending legacy infrastructure.
“Customers worldwide can now see all of the IT asset management and recovery services HP provides through our technology renewal centers at their own convenience,” said Jim O’Grady, director, Global Asset Management, HP Financial Services. “The virtual tour is available on any device and is another step in our commitment to being completely transparent on our asset recovery, remarketing, returns and recycling processes we run at our facilities.”
Available globally, the industry’s first virtual tour of the HP Financial Services Andover and Erskine technology renewal centers is available to all enterprise, government and channel partner organizations. The interactive tool features realistic online walking tours with rich media narration, video, photographs and 360-degree panoramic views of HP’s technology renewal centers.
