A new weekly podcast series produced and hosted by Jonathan L. Fales, a director with The Alta Group, features movers and shakers both inside the global equipment leasing and finance industry and others relevant to the ways it is evolving. It is the first series of this type focused on the equipment financing market.
The Alta Group Podcast, launched by the international consultancy last month, features guests who share what’s top of mind at the intersection of finance, technology and leadership. In the just-released episode, Fales talks with Ralph Petta, president and CEO of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), about the meaning of the industry’s annual convention theme on “Building the Next-Generation Business.” Petta also discusses new challenges and what’s on the radar at federal and state levels, including the uncertain path of tax reform legislation.
Other episodes feature Lori Frasier, senior vice president of strategy and performance management, Key Equipment Finance. She is a leader in the ELFA’s new women in leasing working group. This group plans to create more awareness for women in industry leadership – or those headed in that direction - and she points to data that underscores the value of diversity in organizations.
Topics also include the change management needed in digital investment right now, and how new managed solutions transactions may diminish reliance on traditional “Hell-or-High-Water” clauses in equipment leases that bundle funding with services or usage metrics.
