The annual 2023 Small Business Lending Forum (SBLF) facilitated by Orion First was once again a first-class industry event, held at the JW Marriot Desert Ridge Resort in Phoenix, AZ.

This year’s keynote speaker was filmmaker, photographer and mountain climber, Mikey Schaefer (Orion CEO David Schaefer’s son). The audience was captivated by Mikey’s experiences filming “Free Solo”, an Emmy winning documentary that emphasizes the importance of preparation, partnerships and trust. Mikey spoke directly to how extreme risks are normalized and mitigated when athletes partner with individuals who are trusted and knowledgeable – a concept that is easily transferable to the commercial equipment finance and leasing industry in 2023.
