Fortune magazine and Great Place to Work have honored First American Equipment Finance as one of this year’s Best Workplaces in New York. This is First American’s sixth consecutive year being named to this distinguished list, this year coming in fifth place in the small & medium category (10-999 FTE).

This year’s Best Workplaces in New York award is based on employee feedback collected through the country’s largest ongoing annual workforce study. The study captures 1 million employee survey responses and data from companies representing more than 6.1 million U.S. employees. In that survey, 98 percent of First American’s colleagues said First American is a great place to work. This number is 41 percent higher than the average U.S. company.

The Best Workplaces in New York list is highly competitive. Great Place to Work selected the list using rigorous analytics and confidential employee feedback. Companies were only considered if they are a Great Place to Work-Certified organization. Companies are assessed on how well they are creating a great employee experience that cuts across race, gender, age, disability status, or any aspect of who employees are or what their role is.

Over the past five years, First American’s new business volume has grown substantially, from $606 million in 2016 to $1.38 billion in 2021. During this time, the company created 90 new positions at its Rochester, NY headquarters. First American’s vision is to become the best company to work for and the best company to work with.
