Players are arriving in Newburgh, IN, for the 2021 Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance, with 150 competitors from around the world competing for a purse of $1 million and one of 25 PGA Tour cards to be awarded at the end of the event. Players will compete at the spectacular Victoria National Golf Course, ranked 47th best golf course in America by Golf Digest for its natural beauty, impeccable design and extreme challenge.
“We are extremely excited to celebrate our 10th year as title sponsor of the United Leasing & Finance Championship,” said Martha Ahlers, President of United Leasing & Finance. “The PGA partnership has allowed us to continue having impact to our region and grow the charitable reach to those in need within our community. It really is much more than ‘just a golf tournament’.”
United Leasing & Finance has presented the Korn Ferry Tour Championship for the last decade, continuing the long tradition of golf in southern Indiana. According to a study conducted by the University of Southern Indiana, it’s estimated the tournament has an impact of $10 million to $12 million each year to the greater Evansville economy.
The last year the tournament had spectators was in 2019, with almost 30,000 people in attendance. After a year without any spectators in 2020, Korn Ferry Tour officials are excited to bring back a normal tournament this year. Tournament officials say ticket sales have been great and they expect nearly 30,0000 people to join the players at the tournament again.
