The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) has selected Jeffry D. Elliott to receive its 2020 Michael J. Fleming Distinguished Service Award. The award honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the association and the equipment finance industry. Elliott, who is Senior Managing Director of Huntington Asset Finance, a division of The Huntington National Bank, will be recognized during the ELFA 2020 Business LIVE! virtual conference on Oct. 27-28.

His dedicated volunteer spirit and leadership in so many areas have had a positive impact on our association, the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation and the industry as a whole.”

Elliott has been an active member of ELFA for many years, contributing to the mission of the association in key areas. He has served on a range of member committees, including the Financial Institutions Business Council Steering Committee, the leadership body representing ELFA member bank-related organizations. He is a champion of the association’s business and professional development programs, serving as a frequent speaker and facilitator at ELFA conferences. He has helped to plan numerous industry events, including serving on the National Funding Conference Planning Committee.
Elliott has been a strong supporter of ELFA’s Federal Advocacy programs. He is a member of the Advocacy Advisory Committee, which provides advice and counsel to ELFA’s federal government relations efforts on a broad range of legislative and regulatory issues. He is a regular participant in Capitol Connections, an annual event held in Washington, D.C., to advocate for and educate members of Congress about the equipment finance industry.
In addition to his work with ELFA, Elliott is active with the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation. He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Foundation and has served on the Foundation Board of Trustees for the past seven years. He is a generous donor, former Chair of the Foundation Research Committee and recipient of the Foundation’s 2019 Steven R. LeBarron Award for Principled Research. Elliott is a current member of the Foundation’s Editorial Review Board, Nominating, Academic Outreach and National Development Committees. As an industry thought leader, Elliott has lent his insights to essential Foundation reports, including those on lender finance, corporate aviation, energy, credit, new technologies and more. He also spearheaded the development of the Foundation’s Vertical Market Series.
Elliott joined Huntington in 2001 as part of the newly established Huntington Equipment Finance Division. In his current role, he leads Huntington Public Capital, which focuses on lending to the municipal, university, school and hospital entities and more recently launched the Renewable Energy Finance group that focuses on solar, wind, battery and other renewable energy generation projects. Elliott’s role includes acting Head of Strategy & Corporate Development for Huntington Asset Finance. In that capacity, he has been responsible for product and marketing strategy, development of new products initiatives, mergers and acquisitions within Huntington Asset Finance.
Prior to Huntington, Elliott was Vice President with U.S. Bank as Manager of the Indirect Funding Group. He began his banking career with Security Pacific, a Subsidiary of Bank of America, in 1993 in the consumer finance division.
Elliott holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance degree from the Richard T. Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford, OH, and a Master of Business Administration from the Williams College of Business at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH.
Elliott is a Certified Lease Finance & Professional (CLFP) and a past member of the Board of Directors of the CLFP Foundation. He was formerly involved with the Mid America Association of Equipment Lessors, where he served as Vice Chairman/Board of Directors. He is a retired member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a High School Basketball & Football Official. Currently, he serves locally on the Board of the Bay Village Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3). In his spare time, Elliott enjoys the pursuit of the culinary arts, wine appreciation/collecting and golf.
