The Commercial Finance Association (CFA), the global trade association for the asset-based lending and factoring industries, announced today that it has named Robert Trojan as Chief Executive Officer. Trojan, who has extensive financial services industry and trade association experience, will assume the position effective immediately.
"CFA is very pleased and excited to have Bob on our team as our CEO" said CFA President Bruce Sprenger. "His energy for this role clearly complements his prior accomplishments in leadership and team building. Bob is well prepared to lead CFA having served in our industry, and is looking forward to working with our outstanding staff of professionals here in New York. I encourage all our volunteers, members and Education Foundation professionals to reach out to Bob and extend a personal welcome," added Sprenger.
Prior to joining the CFA, Mr. Trojan was the President and CEO of Financial Services Insights, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in strategy, operations, banking, credit risk management, and regulatory and legislative affairs. Mr. Trojan also spent 19 years in various capacities at CIT, a $45 billion financial services company and one of CFA's largest members. At CIT he held key positions in the organization's global specialty finance businesses and also served as chief of staff and senior advisor to the Vice Chairman. In addition, Mr. Trojan has worked closely with the American Financial Services Association (AFSA) on management and policy issues and is a Board member with the AFSA Education Foundation, a leader in financial literacy, curriculum and advocacy.
"Asset-based lenders and factors are key sources of working capital and growth financing and play a critical role in supporting America's businesses. I look forward to engaging with CFA members to help them fulfill their mission," said Trojan. "I am very excited to be joining the CFA management team and welcome the opportunity to work with all CFA members, volunteer leaders and staff as we lead the Association to the next level," added Trojan.
