CRN reported that IBM’s 2012 Global CEO Study, which interviewed more than 1,700 executives worldwide, shows the convergence of new technologies such as social networking and mobility is changing how IT is being purchased and used in corporate America.
According to the article, Heidi Dethloff, IBM's vice president of North American business partner & midmarket marketing, spoke with CRN TV about the study and said around 80 percent of CEOs interviewed predicted their businesses would undergo major changes or make bold moves in the near future.
In addition, the CRN report says new buyers are emerging in businesses today beyond the CEO and CIO; citing chief marketing officers potentially showing interested in social media and business analytics. The report also says technology has become the No. 1 priority this year for CEOs for the first time since the study has been conducted.
