ACT Research noted all the month-over month comparisons – volume, price, miles, and age – for all weight groups of used trucks improved in July.
“Up until a few months ago, most dealers cited a lack of inventory as the primary factor holding them back from selling more units,” reported Steve Tam, Vice President-Commercial Vehicle Sector with ACT. Concerning pricing, he added, “As if on cue, meaningful amounts of inventory started showing up in some markets.”
The report from ACT provides data on the average used price for the top-selling Class 8 model for each of the major truck OEM’s – Freightliner (Daimler); Kenworth and Peterbilt (Paccar); International (Navistar); and Volvo and Mack
(Volvo).
